Before Humani, I had a hard time getting myself to stick with a consistent workout schedule. I had much less energy over all and felt out of shape. I finally have a workout I can stick to and love doing. Now, after doing Pilates for about a year, the classes continue to challenge me with new moves and goals.
My life is crazy busy with four kids under the age of seven. My Pilates practice is my sanity. I listen to myself breathe, connect my mind and body and re-center myself. I finish a Pilates session renewed and refreshed, ready to replicate the principles of class – endurance, excellence, diligence in my daily life. Pilates is a lifestyle game changer.
I’ve always a-d-o-r-e-d Pilates, but after several surgeries, was hesitant to continue. I would need modifications and work around solutions. Then I found Maria, with knowledge of anatomy, kinematics and muscle action that is current and comprehensive. While I walk and cycle with regularity, 10 classes produced a discernable difference in my posture, flexibility and core muscles.
Doing Pilates has not only made me stronger and more flexible, but has helped improve many other aspects of my life. I have learned that in order to continue doing a great job at work or home (or just to stay sane), Pilates is a necessary element in my life. I am so much healthier now and have accomplished some things in class I never thought mentally or physically I would be able to do.
Thanks to my quick metabolism in my 20’s I didn’t really worry about my weight, but by the time I turned 30, my metabolism slowed down and I had gained an excess of 20 pounds. I joined Humani’s classes 3x a week, and was then inspired to change how I eat. I am happy to say after 4 months, I have lost 20 pounds, look great and feel great. I couldn’t have made a better investment in myself and I love my new lifestyle!
